Wilson McLaughlin was born in Castillo, Honduras, on February 27,1936, and he departed this earthly life on Good Friday April 2, 2021. Nick-named “Coco” by his family and friends, he was a devoted spouse and a loving father. Just about nothing would have made him miss watching The Ed Sullivan Show, Gun Smoke or Dark Shadows. You could always count on hearing classic hymns or country music playing. He will always be remembered for his cowboy hats, jewelry, sharp suit attire - dressed to impress. He was always willing to help his family and friends. Wilson valued trust in God and hard work. He was an active member of the First Church of God in Boston on Shawmut Ave..
His primary and secondary education was with the ZONE, United Fruit Company – La Lima in Puerto Cortez, Honduras. Although he was a Merchant Marine for several years, his passion for building drove him to become a well known carpenter. Wilson transitioned to the United States from Honduras during the 1960s with his wife Madeline.One of his first jobs in the U.S was at the NECCO Candy Factory in Cambridge, MA and later security at MIT. He worked for Malone Properties and then Boston Housing Authority for over 30 years until he retired.
Wilson was preceded in death by his parents,Roy McLaughlin and Victorean Eden-Rodriguez, sister Iolin Campbell, brothers Bernard Saunders and Lemuel Brown, son Larry McLaughlin, step-son Alexander Godrey, son-in-law Joseph Isles Sr, nephew Raymond McLaughlin, and goddaughter Julie Domingo.. He leaves to treasure his memory; favorite niece who cared for him until his death Miriam McLaughlin of Boston,Ma, wife Madeline McLaughlin of Boston,MA, son Mark McLaughlin Sr. of St. Petersburg, FL, daughter Georgeanna McLaughlin Isles of Kissimmee, FL, daughter Mercy Mclaughlin of Turners Falls,MA, sisters; Ellarose Gray-McLaughlin (Raymond Gray) of New Orleans, LA, Viola McLaughlin of Rotan, Honduras, Sonia Pray-McLaughlin of Houston,TX his five grandchildren; Mark Jr., Joseph Jr., Ashley, Constance and Kia (Craig Jr.), his six great-grandchildren; Dasan, Shawn, Theresa, Joseph III, Zaire and Zoey, , his god children Robert Edwwards Jr and Hilda Fernandez, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and compadres.
