William Garland Woods, “Ricky” entered into life on December 14, 1958 and departed this life on April 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, aunt and uncle. “Ricky” as he was known was raised in West Virginia before returning to New York. After a few years, he and his mother moved to Boston, Massachusetts to be with the family.
He was educated in Boston Public Schools and after graduation, he was employed in the field of hospitality and catering. After a days work, he enjoyed watching his favorite sports. Mainly the New York Yankees or even a game of chess which he had a passion for.
After declining in health, he stayed home and enjoyed taking short walks and visiting with family.
He leaves to cherish his memories , his mother, Larlei Woods of Mattapan, Massachusetts, his daughter, Shavonne Bowden of Mattapan, sister Y’Londa Foreman and her husband Eric of Brockton, Massachusetts, Brother James Woods of Dorchester, Massachusetts, Aunt Terri Jones and her husband Kenny of Tampa, Florida, Uncle Rondal Woods and his wife Linda of Hyde Park.MA, Grandchildren Savion and Saylor Bowden of Mattapan, Massachusetts, cousin Wayne Woods and his wife Charnita of Boston, Rhonda Woods of Maryland and Akeyla Woods of Boston, Massachusetts. He also leaves a host of cousins, friends and extended family from Boston, New York and Delaware .
