On 20 September 2021, Vernon Abraham Williams beloved husband, father and brother passed away at the age of 91. Vernon also fondly known as “Darkie, Popsie and Popish” was born on 21 June 1930 in Tucker Valley Estate, Trinidad, West Indies, to Virginia Matthew and Moses Williams. Vernon relocated to the United States with his wife Venita in 1968, where they settled in Boston, Massachusetts. During this time he became a founding member of, Unity Sports and Cultural Club, Inc. In the mid seventies he moved his family to Beverly, Mass where he resided until his death.
For 25 years, Vernon worked as a heavy construction welder with AB Maddison, working on bridges and buildings in and around Boston. His supervisors recognized his work efforts, and afforded him opportunities to temporarily work on major projects in several southern states.
In retirement, you could find him on any given day in his recliner taking in a game show, sports or some criminal series on TV
Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, parents; brother, Neville, sister Iona and daughter, Angela. He is survived by sisters, Daphney and Sheila; sons and step-sons, Jameson, Anthony, Steve and Hudson; daughters, Heather, Rebecca, Deborah, Julia and Ashley. Vernon also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, grand-children and great-grandchildren.
