Taylore Jones Obituary

On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, Taylore Jean Jones lost her life in her New Orleans apartment at the age of 26 years old.  Taylore was born on Monday, July 31, 1995.

Taylore is the daughter of Carleton and Ida Denard Jones and is the youngest sibling to David Heard and Justin Jones.  Taylore was well known by the Holy Tabernacle Church community as an active member in the Junior and New Direction Choirs.  From an early age, Taylore was known for her gregarious and endearing personality.  She also had an infectious smile and a spirited nature that continued with her into her young adulthood.

Her father fondly recounts a time, when on a bright sunny day, he told eight- and nine-year-old Taylore and Justin to “…turn off the TV, get out of the basement and go outside to play in the backyard.”  True to her nature, while Justin grabbed a copy of Harry Potter and proceeded to sit under a tree to read, Taylore proceeded to climb that tree and throw sticks at Justin until he agreed to run around and play with her!  Taylore and Justin were an inseparable pair.

Taylore attended Most Precious Blood School in Hyde Park, MA; Sacred Heart School in Roslindale, MA; Trinity Catholic High School in Newton, MA; and transferred to Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, MA where she graduated in May 2013.  While at Archbishop Williams, Taylore took courses for advanced placement at Quincy College in Quincy, MA.  Taylore was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, like her mother, two brothers and Uncle Randall Jones were, and as her father and Aunt Janet Jones Sydney still are.

Taylore first left Massachusetts as a college freshman to study Environmental Science and Sustainability at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL.  Taylore also took classes back home at Bay State College and UMass Boston.  Taylore again left Massachusetts to live and work in Melbourne, FL and in New Orleans, LA.  It was in New Orleans where Taylore really blossomed as an avid skateboarder and a live musical performer.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Taylore leaves behind other devoted and loving family members to cherish her memory, including her niece Roxy Heard and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations are made to one of the following charities:
