Born on October 24, 1967, Raymond Walker, son of the late Willie Ervin and Gertrude Walker-Williams was called home on April 10, 2024. Ray, as he was lovingly known was born in Selma, Alabama and moved to Boston in 1973 where he was raised and schooled; graduating in 1987 from Madison Park High School and would go on to further his education attending various trade schools.
Ray was a diligent worker and accelerated through the ranks at Slade Gorton and M.S. Walker and was best known for his security business “Bomb Rush Security” operating in various nightclubs and venues in the New England area. In addition to his security business, he held employment with a multitude of other companies throughout his life, such as East Coast Fireproofing, Boston Offset, and his final employment with Joe Angelos of Brockton.
Ray made himself a presence, always attending family gatherings and celebrating accomplishments. His favorite pastimes were fishing and nurturing his love for the Dallas Cowboys, and had a special bond with his siblings, three of which pre-deceased him. He shared an incredibly unique and special relationship with his four sons and grandchildren. Ray was known for his quick pranks and jokes while also being the first to volunteer what he could to those in need.
Ray was genuinely loved and will be deeply missed and remembered for his unwavering love and commitment to his family and friends. He will live on with tears, laughter, and a smile. At this time, a special heartfelt thank you to the individuals that cared for and supported Ray throughout his trying times.
After years of his courageous and stellar strength, Ray at the age of 56 years young, succumbed to his illness and was called back to God’s side. Ray’s quiet strength and dedication left a lasting impression on his four sons: Raymond Jr. (Yiriam) of Brockton, MA, ToRay (Sharneice) of Charlotte, NC, Rayshon (Moriah) of Fort Drum, NY, and T’ondray of Charlotte, NC; Three grandchildren Amiyah Rae, Joshua Zion, and Nova Rayn; His sisters Gloria of Boston, Andrea of North Carolina, Maggie and Mary of Alabama, brother Willie Ervin of California and Solomon of Illinois. Ray Sr. was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Raymond III “Domi”, as well as his siblings TC (Solomon), Lil (Cynthia), Charles Ervin, Albert Ervin, and James. Ray is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
His memories will live on forever in our hearts.
