Born in Boston in August of 1945, Phil was the second youngest of 7 siblings born to Dorothy (Corson) and James Mahoney. Then stuff happened, and he ended up with 3 more putting him squarely in the middle of the pack of 10.
He had a sense of humor, was deemed by many to be easy on the eyes and could pretty much talk to anybody. That could at times cause delays in getting home or to other functions on occasion. But that also was a factor in his most outstanding achievement, fathering 6 fabulous chips off the old block over the span of 20 years. That half a dozen progeny then gifted him with 11 grandchildren (to date- there may be more). The Mahoney genes are alive and well in the US and Canada!
He was happiest on a boat, particularly on his beloved Egg Harbor, Jasper, even just sitting at anchor. He loved hanging out with family, preferably on the Cape or basically near any body of water. And that is where we will celebrate his life and lay his ashes to rest. If you knew him, feel free to raise a glass in his honor on June 4th when we will do the same.
