Nancy Ann Hill was born and raised in Boston and resided in Ashburn, Virginia. On the morning of Tuesday, October 18, 2022, God called her home.
Born on March 2, 1956, to the late Clarence and Maizie Hill, she was the 6th of 8 children. She attended Boston schools and had a lifelong love of old-school music, singing, dancing, and keeping a clean and tidy home.
Although Nancy spent a good deal of her adult life away from Boston, visiting sisters and other relatives always brought a smile to her face and lifted her in so many ways. She enjoyed chatting on the phone, regularly getting updates on family happenings. Spending time with her children and grandchildren also brought her great pride and joy. She lovingly cared for her grandchildren when they were younger while their parents worked, in spite of her having several physical ailments.
Life threw many challenges and hard times at Nan, but she was resilient - a survivor who managed to successfully raise her children on her own. One of her favorite expressions was “Let’s make some moves!”
Nancy didn’t have or want much. In fact, she liked to give whenever and whatever she could. When finances allowed, she proudly shopped and donated toys to the Toys For Tots program. Nan had a big heart for sure!
Nancy is survived by her children LaJuan, Gerard, and Nicole. Nancy was also preceded in being called to God by her son Christopher. She leaves her loving memories to grandchildren Christopher, LaJaun Jr., Aubrey, and Evelin. Her sisters Anita Gatewood, Barbara Willis (deceased), Deborah McAuliffe, Theresa Hill, Donna Hill-Harris, and two brothers; Clarence (Skipper) Hill (deceased), and Robert Hill. Nancy was also preceded in the Lord’s calling by sisters-in-law Esther (Fisher) Hill and Mildred Hill. She also leaves brothers-in-law Albert Willis, David Gatewood (deceased), Eugene McAuliffe (deceased), and Jesse Harris. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
