Maybelle Welch-Johnson Obituary

Maybelle Welch-Johnson 91 of Randolph, passed away on May 29, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Mark Johnson. Loving mother of Almeida (Gerald) Jones-Welch, Diane Welch, Lawrence Welch, Stephen Welch and Angela Wilson. Dear grandmother of 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by a loving host of other relatives and friends.

Maybelle Welch-Johnson was born on May 5, 1927 in Frederick, MD to the late Walter and Henrietta Warfield. She attended school in Frederick, Maryland until the age of 12 when she moved to New England. Maybelle worked as a Homemaker and later as a Hairstylist.

During the late 1950’s Maybelle dedicated her to Jehovah God. During that time she was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. She would say “Come what may as long as we stay close to Jehovah, we will get thru it”. Her favorite scripture was the Book of John 11 Las’a. which she read to every event.

She was married to the late Alfonso Welch and together they raised eight children. Almedia (Gerald) Welch-Jones, Garrett Barrett, Diane Welch, Tyrone Barrett, Lawrence Welch, Stevie Welch, Mary Wilson (Angela) and the late Alphonzo (Ronnie) Welch.

Later in life Maybelle remarried and was a loving wife to the late Mark Johnson where they lived in Brockton, MA and later Fall River, MA. She was a provider of nurturing to her grandchildren. She raised them, several foster children and multiple family members in the word of the truth.

Maybelle loved listening to the scriptures, writing encouraging letters to friends and family, wordsearch puzzles, cooking for the family get togethers, listening to music, fishing, going to yard sales and playing card games.

She also leaves three siblings out of fourteen children (sisters) Edith Howard, Mildred Brown Stamball both of Maryland and Mary Evelyn Alexander of Boston, MA, a loving host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
