Mary States Obituary

Mary M. States (aka Mama), 94 of Mattapan. Passed away February 16th, 2021 at the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Milton, MA. Mary was born in Lancaster, PA but made her permanent roots in Massachusetts for many years. Upon her move to Massachusetts, she met her beloved husband the late Melvin J. States (aka Papa) they were married for a blessed 56 years. Mary graduated from Boston State and Laboure' Colleges. Becoming an RN with a degree. She was a nurse for 35 years before retiring.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter and son in law Juanita (Rainbow) Seecharan; a step son Timmy Jackson; 2 grandsons Leith and Lohn States; a step granddaughter Toni McCann and her 4 children and a precious great grandson Cairo. Mary is also survived by 3 sisters (Janet, Helen and Geraldine). She is also survived by a loving host of other relatives and dear friends. It is Mary's wish that there would be no services. In the near future there will be a family memorial.
