Lillie Jean was born May 23, 1947 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Simon Bell Ruby Robinson.
She attended Bowman High School in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She moved to Boston in 1966 and met her husband Roger Givens, who she has been married to for 49 years. She attended Wilford Beauty Academy, where she became a cosmetologist. Jean enjoyed doing hair, sewing, crocheting, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She also loved to cook.
Jean was a people person. She was loving and affectionate. Those who have had the opportunity to know or have been loved by Jean, know that she allowed people to be themselves. She always welcomed family in her home. She was such a loving nurturing mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Roosevelt Robinson, Leon Robinson and Apostle Johnnie Farris.
Lillie Jean leaves to mourn her dedicated, loving husband, Roger Givens, three sons: Jacky, Roger Jr. and Marlon Givens; her twin sister Lizzie Mae Couvertier, Ernestine Stevens; sisters-in-law Jackie Jackson, Beatrice Blue (John), Earlene Palmer, Prophetess Joyce Farris; brothers-in-law Edward Givens (Phyllis), Frederick Givens (Willett), Wayne Givens. Granddaughters Jaquanna Fuller, Amani Givens, Breanna Givens, TaLial Givens. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
