Leroy Hicks, 77 of Dorchester, passed away on April 18, 2021. Leroy "PEE Wee" Hicks was born on August 15, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Joseph Hicks, Sr. and the late Jane (Washington) Hicks.
Leroy attended elementary, middle and high school in Boston and completed his education. He was married to Edith (Mumford) hicks on June 23, 1963-October 10, 1995 and had two children, Darsay Rochell Hicks and Leroy Hicks, Jr.
Leroy did a short stint in the Army. he worked various jobs throughout his life, from working as an Ironworker to driving a garbage truck. He was a great provider for his family.
On December 28, 2002, Leroy married Ramona (Dardy) Hicks and they became a blended family, which included her sons and their wives, David and Denise Dardy, Darryl and Tara Dardy and Sam Dardy. They have been married for eighteen years. He always made sure she was taken care of and she him. One of his final conversations with his daughter Darsay was for her to make sure Ramona was taken care of when he was gone.
To Those who knew Leroy knew that he was a good person with good heart. He had great sense of humor along with sarcasm. He was smart, funny and loving. He would do anything for anyone if he could. He had a lot of friends and family who cared about him and he loved his family. Everyone his spirit touched will remember Leroy.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joseph Hicks, Jr.
Leroy leaves behind siblings: Barbara (Hicks) Johnson, Pamela (Hicks) Pruitt, and their spouses Stanley Johnson and Tim Pruitt. Daughters: Darsay Rochell Hicks and Jeanine Sequeira, son Leroy Hicks, Jr. Grandsons: Isaac E. Thornton, III, Dakari Hicks and Dominic Stephens. Granddaughter Jasmine Cornish. Great-grandson Cameron Jay Thornton and Great-granddaughter Amaya Avery Thornton. He is also survived by a loving host of extended grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
