Joyce Brade-Lowe Obituary

Joyce was born on November 26th, 1949, in the Caribbean Island of Montserrat, which is located in the West Indies. Joyce was the youngest child of the late Charles and Louisa Brade. Joyce had many other siblings, some who are still with us, four boys and two girls, their names are George, Phillip, Thomas, Louis, Jane, and Margaret Brade, she was also the aunt of Phyllis Weekes and many other nieces and nephews.

Joyce’s Mom Louisa passed away when Joyce was only eight years of age. A family member at that time, then brought Joyce to Puerto Rico where she grew up and received her education. Joyce was quite fluent in Spanish and English. She came to Boston at the age of twenty years; she became a licensed beautician, then shortly after she pursued her education in the medical field. After her graduation, she worked at the Veterans Hospital, then at the Carney Hospital for approximately 24 years; and there is where she met her loving husband, Albert. At that time, he was an active fireman, and was being seen in the Emergency Department as a patient, relating to a fire, and there was Joyce. She became intrigued with his Bajan accent and the rest is history! (Albert is from Barbados)

Albert and Joyce dated for two years and have been married for the past thirty-six years……

Goodness! Talk about being at the right place at the right time!

From that union Joyce was blessed with two bonus daughters Verona “Anne” Jordan-Yearwood and Sharon Jupiter one grandson Gabriel Yearwood and two granddaughters Kennice Deane and Malia Deane.

Both Albert and Joyce loved traveling, they enjoyed cross country scenic routes, gardening and one of her favorite restaurants to sit and dine was Legal Sea Foods. Joyce was a caring, loving, sincere person, especially to family and friends. Her most recent job was at Faulkner Hospital during that time she became ill.

As Joyce declined, and was unable to care for herself, Albert made sure she did not lack anything at any time. We can truly say he kept his vows for better or for worse, in sickness or in health, till death has parted them. Albert spent every day In Joyce’s company during her stay in the Sherill house of Rehabilitation. Joyce will be truly missed by many. You will live in our hearts forever.

On behalf of Albert and the family we sincerely thank you all for your support, condolences and kind words of comfort and encouragement. We thank the staff at the Sherrill’s house for many years of diligent care towards Joyce, and to the staff of the Good Shepard Care.

Finally, to his family, Neville and Gloria Batson, Albert wants you to know that words can not express the gratitude and appreciation, for all you have done for Joyce and himself you have been there from the very beginning to the end, especially during these challenging years of pain, grief, and helplessness. Your love, presence, support, listening ears and understanding heart will never, ever be forgotten. He says he is truly blessed to have you in his life.
