Janelle Louis Obituary

Janelle Valencia Louis was born on June 17, 1991 in Boston, Massachusetts. She grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts and graduated Beverly High School in 2009.

In 2013, Janelle graduated Boston College with a Bachelors in Education. She then went on to earn her Masters in Education from Notre Dame in 2015.

Janelle was an avid musician, playing the saxophone in the Beverly High school band and subsequently playing the trombone in the Boston College marching band. While teaching in New Orleans with the Alliance for Catholic Education, through Notre Dame University, she took her talents with her and was known to play her saxophone in class for her students. She was an amazing teacher, focusing on 2nd and 3rd grade. Her career and education has brought her all over the country and world. She worked in Fremantle, Australia, Salem, Massachusetts, New Orleans, Louisiana and most recently Chicago, Illinois.

Janelle loved teaching and dedicated everyday to molding the minds of her young students. And each one of her students had a special place in her heart. After she graduated from Notre Dame through the Alliance for Catholic Education program, Janelle came back to Notre Dame to teach and supervise beginning teachers as an adjunct faculty member for Notre Dame for five summers. In the last two years, Janelle left teaching, but was still involved in education. She was lastly with Everspring, Inc. An education consulting company, assisting and aiding in college and masters programs helping potential students apply into programs best suited for them with Northwestern University. Janelle was always teaching and helping people wherever she went. An educator through and through, Janelle was always trying to make the world a better place through her kindness and selflessness. She will be sorely missed by all who were lucky to cross her path.

Janelle was also a determined athlete. In high school, she ran track, was the goalie for her high school soccer team, and most recently enjoyed going to a Ninja warrior class, running through and finishing timed obstacle courses which tested her strength and athleticism. She also loved science fiction and video games, and most recently excitedly attended the Star Trek Convention in Chicago, IL. Janelle was also a dedicated granddaughter to grandmother Julienne, whom she shared a special bond with.

Janelle is preceded in death by her Mother, Andrea Sparrow Louis, her grandmother Nellie Francis Sparrow and her grandfather Harold William Sparrow, Jr. .She is survived by her grandmother, Julienne Louis of Boston; her father George Louis of Boston; older sister Jhenna Louis; niece Nora Pierre; and younger brother George Louis II.

Janelle was a light in this world and had an impact on everyone she met. We will truly miss her bubbly spirit and her infectious laugh.
