James Chapman was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 30, 1943 to Joseph and Elnor Chapman. Joseph, a Sailor in the US Navy, traveled with his family until coming to Boston, Massachusetts where they settled. Joseph was in and out of town on duty with the Navy, while Elnor was a homemaker, taking care of the children. Most of James' family called him Jimmy, while his friends called him Chapman. James is predeceased by his dad, Joseph, his mother, Elnor, his son, James Pullen, his brother, Murray Chapman and his nephew Brandon Chapman. He leaves to mourn, his twins, Audrey & Aaron Pullen, his grandchildren, Daryl Pullen, Ebony Pullen, and Janaya Pullen-Curtis, Dolores Pullen {companion}, his sister Brenda Chapman and her children, LaVell {nephew} and Ileya Chapman {niece}, A sister-in-Law, Lutricia Chapman-Greene of Washington State and many other family members.
