Ms. Gloria Elizabeth Gross was born in Washington DC to the late George and Ella Gross in 1944. She attended the school system in the District of Columbia up until the 11th grade while taking care of 4 children.
Ms. Gloria moved to Boston MA to provide a better life for her and her 4 children. She met Mr. Sandie McCall in 1970. They started dating and, got married in 1973 bringing two more girls into the family. They raised six children together as well as many others in Boston MA.
Mrs. Gloria worked for Polaroid in the early 70's and spent a lot of time with her family and friends. In the early 80's she worked as a CNA in a nursing home until she had to retire. Mrs. Gloria taught all her children to treat people as equals. We had some many extended brothers and sisters of all colors and races. It gave her great pride when she was cooking for everyone, watching soap operas, old western movies, kung fu movies, making icy's,or sitting down at the table playing a good game of spades. Everyone wanted to be her partner because they believed she was cheating. When in actuality she had a way of always setting her opponents. So it was best to be her partner. All the kids from the neighborhood came to her house whether they ran away from home, got put out, or just to hang out, and eat good food, and have so much fun. She opened her house to so many people and loved them as if they were her own children. She had 3 nicknames. Glodine or Glo which was given to her by her son Kim, and Sugar foot which was given to her by her grandson Rayshawn. She responded more to Sugar foot than Glodine.
Mrs. Gloria was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Daughter, Cousin, and Auntie to so many people in life.
Mrs. Gloria is preceded in death by her mother and father Ella and George Gross, Sister Brenda Gross, Son Joseph Gross.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories; her sisters Alice Fugham of Boston Ma, Alberta Griffen of Boston Ma, Louise Caldwell of Boston Ma. Rosie Sharp and Cora McCall of Atmore Alabama.
