Gladys M. Campbell was born in Statesboro, Georgia on September 27, 1938 to Essie Mae Porter-Mikell and James Mikell. Gladys graduated from William James High School in Statesboro, Georgia on September 28, 1959. She married John F. Campbell in Boston, MA. Gladys worked as a dietitian at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital for many years.
Gladys had a passion for family. She had no children of her own but loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed listening to music and fishing in her spare time. Gladys had an infectious smile and would light up any room she entered.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents Essie Mae and John. Her husband John and siblings Lena, Elise, Annie, Virginia, Levester, James, Larry and Randy. She is survived by her sister Shirley and brother-in-law Marion Robinson of Boston, MA. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
