It is with deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Gertrude Crump (neé Otto), who last resided in Boston, Massachusetts. She departed this life on October 8, 2025, at the age of 97, at the Boston Medical Center. She was the loving daughter of the late Mrs. Irene Isaac Josiah of Bethesda and the late Hubert Otto of Willikies Village.
She was the devoted wife of the late Theophilus Wosley “Jeff” Crump. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: Tyrone White, Marilyn Murphy Mason Miller, Deazel Peters (affectionately known as Cutie), Debbie Crump Reinado, Cheryl Crump Eaton, Burke Crump, Gayl Crump Swaby, the late Link Crump of the United States.
She was the Stepmother of Helen Crump, Gloria Crump and family residing in the United States and the late Glen Crump of Antigua.
She was the sister of the late Rhonie Roach and family of Antigua. Gretlin Otto, the late Christophine Otto and family of the United States, the late Joseph Otto of the United States, the late Alfred Otto of the United Kingdom, the late Andy Otto and family, the late Austin Otto and family of Willikies Village, the late Gweneth Otto of the United Kingdom and Hanley Otto and family of Radio Range.
She was also the dear Aunt of Charmaine Roach of the United Kingdom, Chrystel Roach Jeffrey, Jacqueline Saintilus, Shem Francis, Ursula Phillips, Lisa Otto of the United States. Nolda Francis of St. Croix USVI, Kirk Francis, Denvanta Roach James, Sullinica Roach Parker, Cynthia Roach McKay, Michael Roach – all residing in Antigua, and many other nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Mommy Gertrude/Grandma was the cherished grandmother of Joycelyn White Faison, Danita White, Tikisha White, Elise Mason, Nadine Peters, Sharon Mason Love, Danielle Miller, Darrell Miller, Kenny Wayne Simon Jr., Swaine Jenkins, Robert J. Barnes Jr., Sakinah Eaton, Link Crump Jr., Tiye Wilkins, Niyah Crump, Carlos Swaby Jr., and Kaelyn Swaby all residing in the United States. She was also adored by her many great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren all residing in the United States.
She was the in-law of Yvonne Crump, Erina Caines, Curlita Browne, Carol-Ann Crump Benjamin and their families residing in the United States. Carlos Swaby, Ginny Crump, Ricardo Reinado, Roshni Crump, Brittania Jones, the late Victor “Toozie” Peters, and the late Molvira Anthony of United States.
Many close family members and friends deeply loved Mrs. Crump, too numerous to mention.
The Thanksgiving service for the life of Mrs. Gertrude Crump will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 10.00 a.m. at the Berea Seventh-day Adventist Church in Boston, Massachusetts.
