Frederick L. Thomas was born on September 22, 1963, in Boston, MA to the late Elaine A. Thomas of Hartford, CT., and Theodore H. Thomas of Newport News, VA. He was second in charge to his sister Alta of his twin brothers, Dave and Douglas at the family home on Aspen Street and was affectionately called Freddie, named after his late Uncle Frederick Thomas, Sr. Freddie grew up creating lasting friendships with neighbors and classmates. He was a Hero to many and his Superpowers were Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, Patience and Loyalty. It was very evident in the life that he lived; how he cared for others, giving of himself freely. A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. (Proverbs 17:17).
Freddie was a graduate of East Boston High School, class of 1982 and attended Fitchburg State College. He truly enjoyed any activity that involved gathering his family together, be it local or distant; no distance was too far, if it meant a trip to the West Coast, Florida, District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia, he was willing to travel at great lengths, for the visit. He adored his late cousin Audrey T. Garrison, that transitioned in July 2019. He went out of his way to ensure that the Northern part of the family maintained relationships with the Southern family.
Freddie was so proud to be a member of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) as a Greenline Trolley Operator, Essential Personnel, from March 2013 to December 2020. He didn’t wait to retire to enjoy traveling and cruising to many places with his former wife Carol, turned dear friend; their union birthed his only child and heartbeat, Nadine.
Freddie leaves to cherish his memory, his Former wife Carol Thomas, daughter Nadine E. Thomas, Siblings: Vincent Felton of Florida, Theodore H. Thomas, Jr. (Lynn), Alta E. Thomas, Dave L. Thomas (Cory) and Douglas L. Thomas of Massachusetts; Best friend: Pierre A. Brown (Stella). One (1) Aunt: Judith Strong (Robert); as well as a host of host of nieces and nephews and extended family, friends and colleagues.
