Emma Jean Banks, beloved daughter of the late Jerry Banks and Elizabeth L Banks, was a remarkable woman who led a life of purpose and compassion. She attended Brighton High School as a young woman and later pursued her education in Culinary at Bessemer Tech. In the 1970s, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she began her career as a nursing assistant at Armenian Nursing home and worked for the DYS juvenile system.
Ms. Banks was preceded in death by her daughter Sarah Banks, as well as her four siblings, Roberta Shields, Jerry Banks Jr, Shirley Ann Banks, and Tyrone Banks. She is survived by her four living children, David Banks, Elizabeth Banks, Carlos Banks, and Torrie Haynes, as well as her dear nieces Tracey Banks and Lashawna Hughes. She also leaves behind a host of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory forever. Grandchildren- Michelle Lee, Mikia lee, Wesley Smith, David Banks Jr, Shavon Banks, Shamar Banks, Lashawna Banks, Angel Sarah Banks, Carlos Banks Jr, Gwendolyn Banks. Great grandchildren- Michael, Maddison, Jachelle, Jo’leigh.
Ms. Banks was a kind, loving, and generous person who touched the lives of everyone she met. Her infectious smile and warm heart endeared her to all those around her, and her legacy of love, joy, and compassion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Throughout her life, Ms. Banks was known for her love of family, her unwavering commitment to helping others, and her strong faith. Her selflessness and generosity will always be remembered and cherished.
As we say goodbye to Emma, we take comfort in the knowledge that she lived a life filled with joy and happiness. May she rest in peace, and may her memories bring comfort to those who loved her.
