Eliza Fulcher Obituary

Ms. Eliza Mae Fulcher was born in Burke County, Georgia on March 4, 1947. She is the daughter of the late Mary Pierce Fulcher and John D. Fulcher. She is one of fourteen children, nine girls and five boys. She departed this life on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

At the young age of 18 years old, Eliza moved to Massachusetts from Georgia to start her life. Eliza masterfully obtained her GED in 1988 and went on to work as a Receiving Teller for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Registry of Motor Vehicles for 30+ years from which she retired; she was known as a friend and mentor to many of her colleagues. Eliza also was a faithful member of the Word of Life Tabernacle, A.F.M. Church of God of Massachusetts, Inc. congregation and received the Lord as her personal savior for more than 50 years. Not only was she a diligent member, she also was thoroughly involved in her church. She was an Usher and for some time the Recording Secretary; she attended services regularly and participated in many activities facilitated by Word of Life including trips to Washington D.C., Virginia, Saturday Bazaars to help fundraise and many more. Eliza loved her pastors, Bishop Samuel A. Darden and Elder Edith P. Darden and her church family dearly. Her love for the Lord guided how she lived and interacted with this world. She was known for continuously lending a helping hand and was always willing to give. Eliza fiercely loved her family; she would call and check in with her siblings, daughter, and grandchildren regularly, not only was she a doting sister, mother and grandmother she was a mentor to them as well, always imparting wisdom in times of need. She will forever be remembered for her generosity, big heart, and forgiving soul.
