Edith (Wade) Leak born on December 29, 1932 in Scotland County, Laurinburg, NC Daughter of the late Boyd Wade Sr. and Gertrude (McKenzie) Wade who departed her life on April 5, 2021 in Boston, MA.
Edith lived in Scotland County, Laurinburg, North Carolina where she went to Scotland County School. Edith was married to Roosevelt in 1956 who preceded her in death. In 1957 Edith moved to Boston, MA with her husband Roosevelt (Leak) Leach. She first worked at the Pickle Factory in Roxbury, then as a van driver for Boston Public Schools, Necco Candy Factory in Cambridge, her final job was at Avent of Cambridge where she later retired from. She attended Christ Temple Church of Boston and later she became a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in 2019.
Edith loved to crochet/knitting from making blankets to little outfits, doing puzzles, puzzle books, listening to music, she loved being with her family, but more so loved traveling and she was extra excited about going to Jamaica 2018 for the first time ever.
Edith preceded in death her two brothers and two sisters of North Carolina and one brother, one sister and son Melvin Wade Sr. (Tonika) all of Boston. She survived by her children Margie Leak, Mary James-McNeill, and Godson Wendell Sullivan of Boston, MA. She was blessed to have a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.
