Dorothy L. Seaborne 93 of Nashua, New Hampshire, formerly of Roxbury, MA passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Seaborne, Loving mother of Kenneth, Samuel and the late Beverly Seaborne. Dear grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a loving cousin just 10 months her senior, Ardena Bailey of Dorchester and her family. Dorothy and Ardena would laugh as they reminisced about the “good old days”.
Dorothy was born in Petersburg, VA and raised by Edith Scott and Jenny Miller. She eventually moved to Boston, where she met and married the love of her life, Arthur Seaborne. Dorothy was an excellent seamstress whom many went to for that “special” outfit that she was so gifted to create, look out Diane Von Furstenberg! Her creativity gave her the opportunity to become the Activities Director at the Elizabeth Carlton House on Seaver Street for many years. After retirement, Dorothy at age 81, volunteered for 3 years, at the Ralph Waldo Emerson elementary school, to help immigrant children learn how to read. She made such an impact, that the Boston Globe even wrote an article about it.
Dorothy was loved by her many friends and community of Roxbury Presbyterian. In Nashua, she was a shining light at the Adult Day Care of Nashua where she attended on a regular basis and her in home helper and friend Pam, called her a beautiful soul. Her devoted son Kenny exemplified Exodus 20:12, Deuteronomy 5::16, as he surely honored his mother. He made sure she was well cared for in every way. She was even his “road buddy” as she traveled with him all over the country, from Florida to California, from amusement parks to Red Sox parades. He was by her side every step of the way.
