Donna Evelyn Gaskins was born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late John and Edna Bartlett on January 11, 1946. She was born the youngest of her siblings. At the tender age of 15, she gave birth to her first child with Ronald Cook (Boston, MA). She later met and went on to marry the love of her life, Fred Gaskins who preceded her in death. She gave birth to two more children, Freddie (Tucker) Bartlett and Dawn Marie Bartlett, both of whom also left this Earth way too soon.
Donna graduated high school and later went on to attend Fisher College. Throughout her life, she held many jobs as a cashier and receptionist before retiring as a housewife. Donna's family was her pride and joy. She took great honor in her "rainbow family". She will be most remembered for her brutal honesty and ability to "tell it like it was". She was the "neighborhood grandma" that took in and cared for everyone.
Donna will be deeply missed and cherished by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two youngest children, grandson Antwaughn Moore, and many others she held close to her heart. Donna leaves behind to cherish her memory: her sister Beverly Sullivan, and brother Donald Bartlett, both of Gardner, MA; her son Paul Bartlett of Boston, MA; 3 daughter in laws: Jackie Johnson-Bartlett, Donna Moore, and Marjorie Bartlett, all of Boston, MA; Grandchildren: Max Johnson, JerreII Stephney, Diondra Bartlett, Daishon Newton, Mercedes Moore, Paul Bartlett Jr., Shynice Bailey, Latema Simpson, Lavar Simpson, and many other who she considered "her grands"; 20 great grandchildren; special friends: The Flates family, the Riddick family, John "Fighter" Williams, and a host of many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
