Cynthia Miller Obituary

Cynthia Telogene Miller was born on June 10,1948 in Samuel Prospect District of Trelawny, Jamaica, West Indies, to the late John Miranda and Lucille Brown Boucher. Her striking beauty radiated from her inside to her outside. Her strength, kindness, compassion, beautiful smile, funny jokes, and unconditional love touched everyone who came in contact with her. You never left her presence without experiencing one or more of her many unique and genuine qualities. She was lovingly called Mommy, Mother, aunt Cynthia, auntie Minnie, and Grandma. She was the sixth of eight children. She was married to her husband of 50 years, Roydell Miller on July 15,1970. She migrated to the United States on March 16,1972.

Cynthia attended the OIC job training program in Boston and received her certificate in Accounting in the early 70s. She later worked at State Street Bank as a bookkeeper for over 20 years until she retired in 1998. She became ill shortly thereafter and despite the many health problems that followed she never questioned God or complained. She gracefully endured whatever burdens she had to bear. Throughout all her challenges, she was always thinking of and putting others ahead of herself. One striking example of her selfless acts was her bi-monthly  blood donation to the Red Cross. She gave until she became anemic and could no longer donate. She was a giver and never let you leave her presence without giving you something. As a cancer survivor, she looked forward to attending the yearly celebration of life at Boston Medical Center to show her gratitude to the staff and to support others who were survivors as well.

Mommy loved to entertain and spend quality time with her family, going out on family outings, yearly visits to the Cape, seeing plays with her family, and going on shopping trips with her girls. She loved to listen to music, always looking her best, and telling funny jokes. Her smile was always warm and comforting. She was well supported, surrounded, and loved by her family to the end of her life. Her beautiful spirit shines wherever she goes as she sprinkled her love, her kindness and compassion to others. She believed in God and we pray that God will reward her for her good work.

On November 24, 2020, Cynthia Telogene Miller left her family and transitioned to her next assignment.

She is survived by her husband, Roydell Miller, her six children, Janet Lynch (Sheena), Rudolph Miller (Rennie), Olive Shelburne (Junnie), Sherine Ford, Ockley Miller, and Diana Davis. Her sons-in-law and daughters-in-law are: Robert Lynch, Ronald Shelburne, Jr., Daryl Ford, Zaida Miller, Louisa Miller and Anthony Davis. Her grandchildren: Curtis, Robert, Jr., Gregory, Isaiah, Andrew, Derrick, Tiffany, Daniel, Christopher, Ashanti, Joseph, Nadia, Alyssa, Laila, Daryl, Jr., Shanel, Shayla, Elisa, Saverio, Roydell, Brian, Anthony, Jr., Nicholas and her great grandchildren: Gabriel, Cameron, Arianna and Ariah. She is also survived by her sisters Evadne Minto, Aldith Davis, Claudette Boucher, and Ferrol Miranda. There are also a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who are left to cherish her memories. She is predeceased in death by her brothers, Terrence Smith, Leslie Miranda, Reginald Miranda, and Dennis Miranda.

Cynthia will be deeply missed by all who knew her, loved her, and cared for her. She was a tower of strength to her family. We are so proud of all that she has accomplished while here on earth and pray that we will be able to honor her memory by continuing her legacy as she moves on to her next assignment. Our chain is broken for a moment but one day we will link up and be together again. May her memories live on with all those whose lives she has touched in so many ways. She was the epitome of love as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. She was a wife, a mother, grandmother and a friend. She was wise and virtuous. Who can find a more virtuous woman? A part of our heart is missing but we will always love you and know that in time God will mend our broken hearts. Your work has been accomplished. Rest in peace now in the everlasting arms of God.
