Benjamin (Ben) Small was born on October 1, 1960, to father Joe Small and mother Ethel Mae Wesley-Small in Birmingham, Alabama. Benjamin graduated from Ensley High School in Birmingham Alabama in 1981, and within a few short years began his tenure at Vinfen Corporation; a company at which he worked for 38 years, most recently as an Overnight Residential Counselor.
Benjamin was a loyal and caring man who put the needs of those around him before his own.
He was a dedicated friend and confidant, always there to provide guidance and support to his family. He was a talented storyteller and a master of jest, always sure to keep everyone laughing. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed spending time visiting with his loved ones. But more than anything, Benjamin was generous and thoughtful, always sending birthday cards, random gifts, and lending a helping hand to those in need. He touched the lives of everyone around him and will be dearly missed.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Ethel Mae Small. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted niece Lenora Battle, cousin Dorinda Wesley and beloved aunts Lugenia (Mama Jeannie) Hatcher, Classie Mae Lyons and Rosa Arrington and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We will continue to honor his spirit. May he rest in peace.
