Basil “George” Lovemore was born December 12, 1950, and sadly departed this life on May 17, 2020.
He was born to Wilfred Lovemore (deceased) and Lillian Amanda Lovemore (deceased). Basil spent his formative years in his island home of Jamaica, W.I. He migrated to Boston, Massachusetts in 1992. Shortly after his arrival, he was employed at Farmer’s Market in Mattapan, Massachusetts, where he remained until his death. In 1995 he met his long- time friend and companion, Mary L. Cooper (deceased), and from this union was born his beloved son, Jonathan Basil Lovemore in 1998.
Basil was a friend to all. To know him was to love him. He had a “heart of gold.” He often expressed his love through cooking. For him, food was love, and he fed many.
Basil was survived by his three children: Karen & Dwayne Lovemore, both of Jamaica, W.I., and Jonathan Basil Lovemore of Boston, Massachusetts., four brothers, Donald, Edwin, Nathan & George Lovemore, and two sisters, Lydia and Icilda Lovemore. He was pre-deceased by Mayneth and Keith Lovemore. He had five grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and relatives to cherish his memory. He will be greatly missed!
