Arthur D. Marshall, Sr. (Roni) was born in Augusta, GA to the late Charles and Nettie Marshall. He attended Roxbury Memorial High School. In 1959, Arthur married his high school sweetheart, Vivian (Royston). They were together for many happy years.
Arthur’s love for basketball lead him to be a great coach and mentor. He worked for the Parks and Recreation Department as a Coordinator for over 20 plus years. He also worked as a Detox Intake Counselor at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital and volunteered for the Orchard Park Task Force and the City Of Boston Elder Affairs.
Arthur was a devout Christian, Deacon, Usher and Choir member at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Arthur fathered four loving children, David Allen Sampson of Ft. Myers, Florida, Jeanne Morris with her husband Troy of San Mateo, California and Wanda Jones-Johnson with her husband Henry of Brockton and the late Arthur D. Marshall, Jr. Beloved grandfather to Jenae Carlisle with her husband Shermain, Jason Jones and Troy Morris with his wife Shirley and great-grandfather to Shermaine Carlisle, Jayden Valdez and Shane Carlisle. He often took on the role as a father figure to many.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers William and James, four sisters Elizabeth, Eugenia, Marie and Carrie. He leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
