Anthony Wilson, beloved father, grandfather and brother, departed this life on Friday July 17, 2020, at the age of 68 years old. Known affectionately as “Tony” by family and friends, he was appreciated for his warm smile, witty sense of humor, charm and infectious laughter. Tony was born on September 4,1951 in Boston, one of 4 children to his parents James E. Wilson and Evelyn B. Wilson. Despite significant health challenges during his lifetime, Tony faced each day with courage and determination, living life fiercely, with joy and grateful for family support. Educated in the Boston Public Schools, he graduated from Brighton High School. He worked as a Compliance Officer for the Boston Water & Sewer Commission. Tony is predeceased by his parents James E. Wilson and Evelyn B. Wilson, brothers Freddie and Alonza Wilson, and former wife, Elsie Haines Wilson. He is survived by his children: Antoinette (Sequeira) Coakley (husband Ernest Coakley), Antonia Haines, Tyrese White (wife Jomekka Freeman-White), and Tanisha Haines McGee; his sister Shirley A. Smith Downie (husband Norbert S. Downie) of Edison, NJ; brothers John James, Michael James, and Larry James of Boston, MA and Linda Kee of Fairfield, CA; his eldest brother Alvin Gene Formey of Adairsville, GA); 7 grandchildren, the Sequeira and Coakley families of Boston, MA, and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and dear friends.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the funeral services will not be available for in-person attendance but may be viewed online using the link provided.
