Andrew Mark Obituary

Do not weep bitterly over the happy dead.  Today, the sun in all it’s glory, depicts fullness and joy, as we celebrate the handing over of one of earth’s gems back to our beloved Father.  Often we are led to believe that death  is the ultimate end.  Shocking as this is, hard as it may seem, frightened to the feel of goose bumps with thoughts beyond our control, we still resist it.  We have and must learn to accept death meaningfully as moving to a new level, new heights, new life, new beginning, for this is a prerequisite for change.

Hill Andrew Antonio Mark is the son of the late Frank and Josephine Mark.  He was born on May 10, 1947 on the island of Trinidad and grew up in the  small town of Chatham.  He spent most of his teenage life in the Central part of the Island, where he attended Primary School at Saint Mary’s RC in Saint Mary’s Village receiving his foundational academic training.  He continued his education through the Independent College in San Fernando.  After completing his education he applied for and was hired by the Trinidad & Tobago Police Services as a Police Officer.  Within a few years he was promoted to Detective in the CID Division.

In 1977 Andrew migrated to the United States, where he resided for a short time in St. Croix.  Eventually, he moved and settled in Boston, Massachusetts.  While in Boston, Andrew attended MIT where he received a Certificate in Welding.  He then worked for several years as a Journeyman.  In 1979 he was hired by General Motors as an Assembler until his retirement in 2009.

When we think of Andrew, we think of a man who was fearless, faithful, vibrant, pleasant and thoughtful.  Andrew had a compassionate soul and gave abundantly of himself.  His warm mannerisms exhibited  and instilled a great manner of strength, which I believe he has passed on to his other comrades.  And so, the world is at peace because he is at peace .

Andrew, you’re an example of what life entails.  Goodbye my good friend, be comfortable and take your rest.  It is enough, your home has come.

He is preceded in death by his brother Francis Mark and father in-law David Adams.

Andrew leaves  behind to celebrate his life his devoted wife Wilva Mark, son Kyrol Mark, his brother Melvin, sisters Agnes and Joyce, nephews Michael, Hayden, Chris, Larry, nieces Michelle, Crystal, Tracey and two grandsons  Amaru and Aaron, other great nieces and nephews, his mother in-law Floris Adams, seven sisters  in-law, six brothers in-law and a host of cousins and many friends.

Andrew leaves a legacy of love, devotion, joy, sacrifice and fun.

Rest in Peace, you will be missed.
