God, in His infinite wisdom and power blessed Isaac and Rebecca Mitchell with the birth of their daughter; Yvonne Millicent on April 27,1943 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

While in Jamaica, Yvonne attended Bethlehem College where she obtained a bachelor's degree in education and worked as a teacher.  Later, Yvonne migrated to Boston with her family, where she worked various jobs. Seeking to further her education, she obtained a bachelor's degree in business from Northeastern University. This led to numerous careers in mortgage underwriting where she worked for Hewlett Packard as a manager, and eventually had her own business.

On October 10,1966, Yvonne married Benjamin Spencer. From this union, two children; Selvon and Suzette, were born.

Yvonne joined Charles Street A.M.E. Church in 1982. As a devoted member, she served God in various capacities; Sunday School teacher, Trustee, Steward, Class Leader, and founding President of the Caribbean International Ministry.

What brought Yvonne the greatest joy was cooking, teaching, gardening, helping others and being with her friends and family. Mom had an infectious laugh and loved being around people - especially her church family.

God, in His infinite wisdom and tender mercies called Yvonne home to be with Him on Thursday May 8, 2025.

Along with her parents, Yvonne also had siblings who predeceased her- Edmund, Fergus, and Sylvia.

Left to cherish and mourn her passing are Yvonne's siblings; Leroy and Joyce in Jamaica, Michael in London, her children Selvon and Suzette, son-in-law Eugene Daly, her treasured grandchildren Mya and Brandon, numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews and numerous friends.

Mom devoted her life to educating children, she taught and modeled for us her deep faith, trust, abiding love for God and His word. These are the lessons we will continue to live by. For they are the lessons that assures us that one day, we will see her again.

Until we meet again Mom, rest in God's Heavenly Peace. We love and will always be thankful to you for the endless love and sacrifices you made for us all.
