Obituary

It is with deep sadness and eternal love that we announce the passing of Winston Paul Andrew, who departed this life peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by his devoted family.

Born on August 13, 1945, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Winston was the cherished son of the late Thomas Daniel Andrew and Clair Andrew. From a young age, he was known for his infectious laugh, joyful spirit, and calm presence. He grew up attending Piccadilly English Catholic School and was confirmed at age 12 at Trinity English Catholic Cathedral. His early love for cricket and boxing remained with him throughout his life.

In 1979, Winston migrated to the United States, making Boston his home and carrying with him the vibrant culture of his Caribbean roots. He later married the love of his life, Ingrid Benny-Andrews, in 1995. Though he had no biological children, Winston was a proud and loving husband, uncle, and friend whose kindness and generosity shaped the lives of those around him.

Winston was a dedicated painter by trade—respected for his impeccable craftsmanship, attention to detail, and warm rapport with clients who often became friends. His steady hands and meticulous care helped bring beauty to countless homes and buildings. Many would say, if Winston painted it, it was done right.

He was well-adorned and impeccably organized, always dressed for the occasion, especially during his beloved Caribbean Carnival season, which he joyfully celebrated with pride and style. Winston didn't make a big fuss about things, but his presence was deeply felt. He was pleasant, trustworthy, and full of quiet wisdom. One of his favorite sayings, delivered with a grin, was: "Glad to see you come, glad to see you go!"

Winston is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Daniel Andrew and Clair Andrew, his sister Patricia Jorsling, and his nephew Sheldon Andrews.

Winston leaves to mourn his loving wife Ingrid Benny-Andrews, his brothers Ralph Andrews and Dolliver Andrew, and his beloved nieces and nephews: William and Tanisha Sullivan, Emerson Andrews, Anthony Andrew, April Andrew, and Alexa Andrew.

Winston's life was a testament to quiet strength, gentle love, and joyful living. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
