Obituary

Winsome Marcia Fraser-Holness, the daughter of Leroy Fraser & Asneth Sylvia Sullivan and stepdaughter of Leslie G. Sullivan, passed away on July 17, 2024, from congested heart failure, stroke, and aneurysm of the brain at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston MA. She was born in Jamaica on June 14, 1957, in Clarendon. She was raised for a while by her adorable grandmother Matilda Deans. While in Jamaica she attended Port Antonio Elementary School.

Winsome migrated to Boston, Massachusetts in 1974 in an extremely sick state, suffering from severe congested heart failure, where she was immediately admitted to the hospital. They operated on her heart and had to replace a valve, so she could survive and live. As a result, she had to take medication for the rest of her life. In 1974 when she migrated Winsome was 17 years old. She went through the school system in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from the Cutting Handicap School with a great grade point average. In fact, she was offered a scholarship by the Boston School of Arts, but she did not pursue it. Unfortunately, because of her health her mom discouraged the opportunity. Thus, she ventured into various programs like, working at an office in downtown Boston, and becoming a clerk at Deaconess Hospital. She was very gifted at art, she had a passion for music, dancing, and fashion; she was always dressed well.

Winsome got married in 1992 to Mr. George Holness. They had a nice wedding ceremony. The marriage lasted until her transition.

Winsome Marcia Fraser-Holness will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
