Obituary

Wallace Patten was the oldest of five children, born to the late Eugene and Juanita Patten on May 25, 1940, in Edgefield, South Carolina. He transitioned peacefully on April 15, 2025. At a young age, Wallace—affectionately known as "Dilly"—left his hometown and made Boston his new home. Some of Dilly's favorite pastimes included playing baseball in his youth and early to mid adulthood and spending time with family. Each summer, he would drive from Boston to various locations to attend family reunions and reconnect with loved ones in his hometown. Dilly took great pride in being a hard worker. Even after retiring from Hood Dairy, he continued to work part-time, a testament to his strong work ethic. Dilly leaves to celebrate his life his sisters, Lois Jackson and Geneva Simms (Charles); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Warren Patten, and his sister Mamie Harris.
