Virginia Pearl
Rhodes
Sep 30, 1935 — Sep 8, 2026
Virginia Pearl Rhodes, a beloved matriarch, was born on September 30, 1935, in Greensboro, Alabama, and peacefully departed this life on September 8, 2026, at AccentCare in Milton, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Mary Rhodes and Robert Warthaw, Virginia was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Rhodes, her loving uncle Columbus Rhodes Sr., and her devoted sister Wilma Rhodes. Virginia's life was rich with love and family. She leaves behind her cherished son Columbus Rhodes and daughter-in-law Elnora Rhodes, who were the center of her world, along with their dog Major. Her legacy is carried forward by her four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored immensely. Among her extended family, she held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews, Denise, Annie, Larry and Rickey, as well as her great-nieces and nephews Rickey Jr., Jacqueline, Romello, GiAnna, Elwood and Max.
Throughout her career in hotel services, Virginia was known for her impeccable attention to detail, ensuring that each guest experienced the comfort of home. Her dedication and warm personality left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A woman of deep faith, Virginia embraced the Lord as her savior later in life and was a member of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church in Boston alongside her sister. She found solace and joy in her faith, often reminding others that "we're all in God's hands."
Virginia had a passion for tending to her flowers and cherished the moments spent with her niece Denise and her children. Her quick wit and humor were hallmarks of her personality, always ready with a comical response that brought laughter to those around her. Her deep love for family and friends was evident. From her weekly calls with William and Leo who kept her laughing, her numerous daily calls with Cora and Ula C, and her weekly Sunday call with Lucy from Puerto Rico. She adored Dorthy, who she would always say here comes “little Dee.” She was especially fond of Benjy, whose caring nature touched her profoundly-so much that she immediately declared him her great-nephew in-law.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice staff for their incredible support and care.
