Viola Mitchell was born January 30, 1945 in Waco, Texas. She Is the daughter of the late Ella and David Charles Abercrombie. Viola was the youngest of seven siblings, 5 girls and 3 boys. She grew up in Texas where her family had all kinds of animals and gardens. Viola LOVES cooking, her family owned land where they grew all types of fruits and vegetables everything you can think of they had it. A great cook she was, she made all kinds of pastries and homemade meals anything she put her mind too viola would do. She knew how to make the littlest things stand out with so much meaning behind it. Viola attended G.W. Carver High School in Waco Texas , where she graduated from in 1961.Viola was a mother of 2 young boys Terence "Terry" and Charles "Reggie". At that time she worked as a Clerk where she met and married Oscar Mitchell in 1966 Viola and Oscar decided it was time to move North, relocating in Boston MA. In 1968 Viola went on to work at Logan Airport as a Clerk at the Air Mail Facility. She and Oscar welcomed their one and only baby girl Shauna in 1969. The couple welcomed their last baby boy, Corey three years later. After the birth of her baby boy Viola then relocated to Mission Hill, a community where everyone came together as one, like a family. She then went on to start a career at Sears & Roebuck. While working at Sears Viola met many more friends that lasted a lifetime. Viola was a natural nurturing person she loved caring and attending to all the people that she loved. Viola was an amazing wife, a phenomenal mother, and outstanding friend. Viola held various jobs in order to care and provide for her family " Polaroid, Payne Furniture"and Later retiring as a Retail Sales Advisor. She loved shopping, sewing and talking on the phone for hours.Viola's astonishing energy made ANY room she entered light up and any conversation she held a lot more meaningful. Viola will forever be remembered for her big heart. She was caring, honest, trustworthy and most of all elegant. Viola is preceded in death by her Parents; Ella and David Abercrombie, Brothers; Lavern, Artie, Jimmy Abercrombie, and Sister's; Dorothy. L Abercrombie, Julia Richardson and Alphatha Cassimere and a Brother in-law Orlando Cassimere. Viola is survived by her Sister; Eldora Browne of Berkley CA, Brother in-law; Tom Dewberry of Tallahassee FL, Sister In-Law; Andrea Henderson of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of Nieces and Nephews. Viola's legacy and memory will continue through her Husband; Oscar L. Mitchell and children , Terry and Charles Abercrombie, Corey Mitchell along with her daughter Shauna Mitchell, Daughter In-Laws; Sherry L. Abercrombie and Osaro Mitchell, Grandsons; Terrence Blalock, Chester "Aaron" Johnson, Divine and Duquan Waight, Giovanni Abercrombie, Tevin Abercrombie, Daunté Mitchell, Granddaughters; Bobbi Jones, Charlia and Chalone Abercrombie, Tayasia Abercrombie and Grandson Ryan Washington of Atlanta, GA. Viola also leaves behind 15 Great-Grandchildren.
