Vernell O. Armistead, born on March 24, 1924, in Stamford, Connecticut, peacefully passed away on January 9, 2025, to be with the lord. She was the beloved daughter of the late James and Mary Armistead and was the eleventh of twelve children, all of whom preceded Vernell in death.

Vernell dedicated many years of her career at New England Telephone, where her hard work and commitment left a lasting impression on her colleagues.

Beyond her professional life, Vernall was cherished by her family, friends, and church community. She was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for many years, a connection that began when she accidentally called the wrong telephone number.

Throughout her life, she received several awards in recognition of her contributions.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Alice Mason; two loving grandsons; David and Scott Mason. Along with their wives, four great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and church family who will forever treasure her memory.

Vernell's life was a testament to faith, love, and perseverance. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
