Timothy Dotson Powell, 58 years young, passed away on August 31, 2026.
Timothy was the eighth child of ten born to the late Lucille V. Powell. After graduating from Framingham North High School, Timothy proudly spent time serving in the United States Navy. Following his time in the Navy, he worked for many years as a mechanic with Jiffy Lube and Valvoline.
Timothy was a strong-headed man who was never afraid to speak his mind or stand up for what he believed was right. He was a devoted fan of the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots and could always be counted on to voice his opinion—especially when a player wasn’t performing. He was quick to call someone a “bum” when they weren’t doing their job on the court, on the field, or in everyday life.
Timothy may not have been perfect, but one thing was certain: he loved his family. His presence, personality, honesty, and unmistakable way of expressing himself will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Timothy was preceded in death by his sisters, Cynthia “Cookie” Jackson and Beverly Ann Gibson, and his brother, Tyrone Edward Powell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Darius Timothy Powell and Timothy James Powell; his sisters, Donna and Valerie (Frederick Foxx); his brothers, Michael (Christina) and William (Gwen) Larry/Ibraaheem Naazir (Margaret), James Powell, Mikel B. Powell; approximately 25 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of loving friends, cousins, and extended family.
Timothy will be remembered for being unapologetically himself, for loving his family in his own way, and for the many memories he leaves behind.
May he rest in peace.
