Stephen Richard Walker was born on November 19, 1949, to Dorothea and Walter Walker, the second of six children. He was a caring older brother who was often charged with looking after his younger siblings. He received his early education in Boston and graduated from Brighton High School in 1967.

Stevie, as he was called by family and friends, spent his formative and adult years in Boston fostering life-long friendships in the city that he loved.

He was an avid fan of basketball, which he played in his youth and was a devoted Boston Celtics fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothea and Walter Walker, his brother Gerald R. Walker and his dear friend Linda Sneed. He leaves behind his son Stephen Sneed, granddaughter, Jada Sneed and his siblings Karen Walker, Cheryl Walker, Marilyn Walker Harris, David Walker and several nieces, nephews and many dear cousins and friends.
