Obituary

Sheila Elizabeth Brown, 71, of Brockton, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025, after courageously battling Multiple Sclerosis. Born on March 8, 1954, in Newton, MA, Sheila was the eldest of seven children and the cherished daughter of Percy and Arlene Brown. A true "daddy's girl," she carried her father's strength, warmth, and wisdom with her throughout her life.

Sheila spent much of her childhood in Columbia Point before moving to Mattapan in 1973. She graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School in 1972 and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Accounting. She built a long and dedicated career in the field. She concluded her career with Thomson Financial, Farnsworth Street, Boston, MA. Thomson had a major reorganization and offered her another position with training or a Golden Parachute (a large payment or other financial compensation guaranteed to a company executive should the executive be dismissed as a result of a merger or takeover.) She took the Golden Parachute.

A homebody with an old soul, Sheila found joy in life's simple pleasures. She adored jazz music and fine dining, and anyone who knew her understood her love for her lottery tickets, a cigarette, and a relaxing toke.  Music was her constant companion early days she idolized Diana Ross grew to love later in life, Usher, in particular, became one of her favorite artists. Her family will always remember how deeply she connected to the rhythm and soul of every beat.

Above all, Sheila's greatest joy came from her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored her just as much. She was their foundation, their comfort, and in many ways, their queen—the heart of the family. Her love was steady, unconditional, and ever-present.

Sheila is survived by her devoted daughter, Sheena Green, and her son-in- law, Kyle Green Sr. She leaves behind three beloved grandchildren: Shanice (Dalisa) Campbell, Shanaye Green, and Kyle Green Jr., as well as two precious great-grandchildren, Shanell Walker and Shamar Walker.

She is also survived by five of her siblings: Shirley Brown, Denise Harper, Percel (Linda) Brown, Stephen (Charlese) Brown, and Tracey Johnson. She is preceded in heaven by her parents, Percy (2018) and Arlene (2015) Brown, and her youngest brother, Kenneth Brown (2009).  Sheila leaves behind a host of nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Sheila Elizabeth Brown will be remembered for her strength, humor, unmistakable honesty, and the deep love she had for the people who meant the most to her. She was, and will always remain, the queen of her family. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
