Ms. Sarah Mae Evans, age 82, was born on November 20, 1943, in Boston, Georgia, to the late Joseph Evans Sr. and Alberta (Whitfield) Evans. She peacefully departed this life on June 13, 2026.

Sarah was raised in Boston, Georgia, where she was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Following her graduation from high school, she joined her sister, Rosa Bell (Evans) Clark, in Boston, Massachusetts, where she made her home and remained for the rest of her life.

Alongside her dear friend, the late Ora (Clark) Wilkerson, Sarah began her working career in custodial services within the banking industry. She later transitioned to the hospitality field, joining the Sheraton Hotel, where she served as a Housekeeping Supervisor for over 20 years. Following her tenure at the Sheraton, she continued her career as a supervisor at the Lenox Hotel.

After many years in the hotel industry, Sarah dedicated more than two decades of service to Family Service of Greater Boston, where she worked with the elderly until her retirement.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alberta (Whitfield) Evans; her brothers, Earl Ike Henry Evans, Eddie Evans, Jasper Evans, and Joseph Evans Jr. (Evelyn); her sisters, Joretha (Evans) Fuller and Laurene (Evans) Spencer; sister-in-law, Evelyn Evans; and her brothers-in-law, Howard Spencer Sr. (Laurene), July Clark Sr. (Rosa Bell), and Jeremiah Fuller Sr. (Joretha), all of Boston, Georgia. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Willie Mae (Anderson) Smith and Jessie B. (Anderson) Hatfield of Southfield, Michigan.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Lesia Evans; her devoted sister, Rosa Bell (Evans) Clark; and her nephew, July Clark Jr. (Felecia), all of Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Sarah's life was marked by hard work, dedication, love for family, and service to others. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
