Sandra Martin-Gore, affectionately known as Netta or Aunty Sandra, a beloved resident of Randolph, MA, gained her wings on June 26, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at South Shore Hospital. She was 67 years old.

Born on August 8, 1957, in Boston, MA, Sandra's journey was marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering love.  Her parents, the late Teener Martin and Edward H. Martin instilled in her a strong sense of family and service.

During her childhood, Sandra attended the Blessed Sacrament School, J.F. Kennedy School, and English High in MA. She was also a student at the prestigious Elma Lewis School of Dance. Her soulful voice captivated audiences in the early 1970s when she performed with a popular group at various Boston clubs.

Sandra's commitment extended beyond the stage. As a paralegal, she received numerous awards for her accomplishments. In November 1986, she joined the Boston Police Department, dedicating over 30 years to serving her city. She worked in multiple areas, eventually settling in the Special Assault Unit (SAU) and Homicide Division before retiring as a detective in 2022.

Her impact reached far beyond her badge. Sandra helped inner-city residents overcome trials, fostering resilience and hope. She actively participated in community events, youth development, and planning. Her home was a safe haven where laughter, music, and card games echoed through cookouts and gatherings.

Sandra loved to sing, dance, and lend a helping hand. She loved traveling, fine dining, family events, and concert-going. She also enjoyed bowling and cheering for her local sports teams. Her generosity extended to various charities and families throughout her lifetime.

A believer in Jesus Christ, Sandra's faith anchored her spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, resilience, and family support.

Sandra is survived by her husband Reggie Gore, stepchildren Kenneth and Shannon Gore, her three siblings—Catherine Key, Miriam Smith, and John Braxton- and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.  Sandra cherished her family and her love for them knew no bounds.

Sandra rejoins her deceased son, Dwayne Harris, who held a significantly special place in her heart, as well as her late siblings: Howard Key, Doris Braxton, Jasper Braxton, Thomas Braxton and Edward H. Martin Jr.

Join us in celebrating Sandra's life on July 10, 2024, at 10 AM for viewing and 11 AM for services at Refuge Church of Christ 46 Millmont Street Roxbury, MA 02119. Let us honor her memory by continuing the spirit of love, resilience, community, and family that she embodied.
