Richard D. Wiggins, Sr. was called to be with the Lord on Friday, 8/11/23 at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He was born to Mary and Ernest Wiggins, Sr (both are deceased) on 4/3/37 in Union Springs, Alabama. He was 1 of 11 children. The family later moved to Columbus, Ga. where he spent the majority of his younger years, married and began his family. He moved to Boston, Ma in the 60s. Richard always strived for excellence in all areas of his life. He trusted God in all things. He was always gainfully employed in addition to having his own businesses including a BBQ truck; cleaning company and window washing service just to name a few. He was a real go getter, but forever willing to give others a helping hand financially and otherwise. Richard loved God, his family, his church and many friends old and new. He was a top notch Deacon and took his calling very seriously.

He also enjoyed singing Gospel Quartet Music. When in the south, he sang with his family. After moving to Boston, he sang with The Gospel Echoes and The Mighty Bright Stars of Boston. His signature songs were "Let Jesus Lead You" and "Don't Forget The Family Prayer". We all will miss him greatly. A Patriarch to his family and many more.

He is now survived by his sister Laura Herring of Columbus, Ga; His sons Richard Wiggins, Jr and, Fitzgerald Allen of Boston, Norris Wiggins of Waldorf, Maryland; His daughters Glenda Powe and Tabatha Peterson of Boston: many grands, great grands and great great grands.

Acknowledgment is also given to his deceased children, Linda Hawes, Philandre Wiggins and Kenneth Riley. Siblings preceded him in death are Freddy, Ernest, Edester, Anne, John, Lonnie, Samuel, Jimmy and Lee. He also leaves to cherish his memory a very special friend JoAnn Rankin of Boston.
