Richard Allan
Boyd
Feb 1, 1955 — May 30, 2025
Richard Allan Boyd, the beloved son of Carolina (Pisapia) Boyd and Lord Eric Boyd was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 1, 1955.
Richard (Rick) was a private man, an avid bike rider, did things his own way, and stayed true to himself, but was fiercely loyal to family and friends. Rick bravely fought cancer for 20 years, refusing to allow it to define him or to take away his independence until this year.
Richard had over 30 years of service with the City of Boston, retiring in June 2021.Throughout his life, he frequently traveled with his soulmate Adrienne Holiday and his family to numerous destinations, including Antigua, Aruba, Cancun, the Dominican Republic, and various locations across the United States. Despite being a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, Rick attended the annual Patriots/Miami Dolphins game and vocally expressed his support for the home team instead of the Patriots. He was a bit of a rebel rouser.
Richard is survived by his soulmate Adrienne Holiday; sisters Deborah Boyd and Helaina Boyd; brothers Eric Boyd and Carl Boyd (Kecia); niece Christa Boyd Hardy (Mathias); and nephews Paul Bunn (Luna) and Eric Boyd, Jr. (Stephanie) and Joshua Boyd (Allison), great nephew, Mathias Hardy, Jr.; stepdaughters, Shawna Holiday and Tia Holiday; step-granddaughters Alahni Skeens and Tiyani Holiday and step-grandsons Noelle Holiday, Daavon Holiday, and Damari Holiday.
