Obituary

Percy G. Coren was born on February 7, 1952, and was the third of ten children, born to the late Susie C. Griffith in Greenville, Mississippi. Percy grew up attending Saint Peters Church with his family. At a young age, he did field work with his mother and siblings. As a child he attended Lucy L. Webb Elementary School, and as a teenager he went to T. L. Weston High School.

In August of 1966 Percy, his mother, and the rest of his siblings moved to Boston, Massachusetts for a new beginning. Percy enrolled at Boston trade school learning the art of drafting. After graduating from trade high school in 1970 he secured a job at Boston Edison as a Field Service Technician -L3B and Meter Technician where he eventually retired. During his tenure at Boston Edison, Percy had to take time away because he was drafted by the US Army. He did his training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and was assigned to Company A- 10th battalion.

Percy is preceded in death by his mother Susie and siblings Samuel, Charles, Barbara, Ernest and Walter.

Percy leaves to cherish his memories, daughters Ashleigh of Maryland, Amber and Kayla of Boston, seven sisters Doloris (Raphael), Susie of Memphis, Tennessee, Vera, Harriet, Timpie of Greenville, Bertha and Margaret; three brothers Randy (Lisa) of Florida Donearl (Marcia) of North Carolina and Willie (Francis). He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
