Remembering our Beloved Patricia Dunson
Mrs. Patricia Dunson was born into the world on April 24, 1941, to the late John and Earnestine Thomas Dukes in Bremen, Georgia. She was the seventh child out of eleven.
She attended and graduated from Haralson County Consolidated High School where she played basketball and threw shot put. Following high school, she met and married the late Perry Dunson of Tallapoosa, Georgia. Four children were born to their union: Harold Bernard, twins Karen and Kelvin, and Lenore Dunson.
Patricia was a wonderful mother who was always there when her family needed her. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of Union United Methodist Church where she participated with Project Bread and the Woman's Day Committee.
For many years, Patricia worked at the John Hancock life insurance company. She was a dedicated and diligent worker until her retirement. And she was a card-carrying member of the Turtle Club at Biff's Lounge.
Beloved mother Patricia passed away on October 19, 2023 at the age of 82. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Earnestine Thomas Dukes, and her four sisters, Johnnie Mae, Hazel, Irma Gene, and Sylvia Sue, and her two brothers, Howard and Harold.
She is survived by her children Harold, Karen, Kelvin, and Lenore; grandchildren Terrance, Bernadette, and Eric; great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Cameron D., Jordan, Jaxon, and Cameron; her sister, Scarlett, and three brothers, Thomas, Jonathan, and Michael; Lenore. She is also survived by a sister in-law Cathryn Dukes and a loving host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Patricia's memory to Union United Methodist Church, 485 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA 02118.
