Nancy Joyce King born January 30,1964 and passed away on April 23, 2026. She was 62 years old. Nancy was the fifth child of Melvin H King, Sr. (deceased) and Joyce I King. She grew up with her five siblings, Skip (Melvin Jr, deceased), Pamela, Judith, Michael, and Jomo on Yarmouth Street, South End, Boston. She was educated at St. Joseph's Community School in Roxbury, Umana Magnet School, East Boston, and took various courses at local organizations. Recently she was studying forensic science. She is the mother of Brianna Sumler and grandmother of Jaynell, Adonna, Sylvonna and Cynnajia and great-grandmother to Amora (Jaynell's daughter).

In 2000 Nancy started her career as an MBTA Inspector for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority and retired in 2022. She assisted passengers and fellow workers in navigating the T.

Nancy loved to dress up. She was a fashionista! Her trademarks were her long nails, her dark lipstick and her various hair styles. People were always in awe and wondered how she did things with those nails. Nancy also loved to crochet. Her favorite color was purple and crafted her cell phone covers with lots of bling.

She loved George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic's. Whenever they came to Boston Nancy was right there, front row if she could. She was his number one Fan. She would sometimes take her oldest brother Skip to the concerts. Nancy also enjoyed attending the South End Reunion parties and hanging down at Slade's.
