Obituary

Mollie Allen (Ware) Dawson also affectionally known to us as "Mom" was born in Lynchburg, VA on April 30,1932 to Jesse and Mollie Ware. She was the third child amongst four.

Mollie attended Dunbar High school where she played basketball, sung in the choir and was recognized for her academic achievements and talent of dancing.  After high school Mollie attended Mercy Douglas Hospital in PA where she obtained her nursing degree and became a member of the ETA-KIA sorority.

For years Mollie worked at the George Washington Hospital in Washington, DC .  In 1959 Mollie joined the Army Nursing Corp, where she flourished in her ranking from Lieutenant to Captain. She served in Virginia, New Jersey and Germany.

In 1965 Mollie moved to Boston, MA where she met and would later marry Charles Dawson. They lovingly raised their two daughters Linda and Paula.

Mollie was a faithful member of the Historical Twelfth Baptist Church for over 50 years where she served as the Girls Scouts Leader, participated in the Dorcas Ministry, Swingers Senior Club, Church Pre-school and Sunday's Nursery program. She was also a member of the local AARP and the Seniors on the move.

Mollie will be remembered for her sweet and caring personality, her love for her family and service to God.

Mollie's legacy will continue through all of her loved ones. She leaves to mourn her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, extended family and dear friends.
