Obituary

Millie Grace Williams was born on April 26, 1951, in Oglethorpe, Georgia, to the late Charlie Wesley Williams and the late Grace (Bailey) Williams. As an infant, Millie relocated with her parents back to Boston, Massachusetts, where she was raised. She grew up across the street from the Philip Brooks Elementary School, which she attended.

After losing her father at a young age, Millie often sat in her classroom gazing out the window at her mother on the back porch. The loss of her father deeply affected her and remained a significant moment in her life.

Millie later attended and graduated from Boston High School. After completing her education, she began her career serving the needy and disabled population at Goodwill Industries. Following many dedicated years at Goodwill, she went on to build a career as a Supervisor at the Women's Inn at the Pine Street Inn. Millie retired from Pine Street Inn in 2015 but soon felt restless and chose to return for one more year. She officially retired in 2017 to welcome and care for her new family member, her bonus niece, Nina Grace Williams. Millie proudly embraced a motherly role with Nina and lovingly raised her until she was eight years old.

Millie is preceded in death by her mother, Grace Williams; father, Charlie W. Williams; brothers, James Williams and Richard Williams; and nephew, Tarick Williams.

She is survived by her brother, Ernest Williams; her sister, Diana Williams; nephews Benjamin Williams (K. Williams), Khalif Nelson (Carol Nelson), and Wesley Williams, Sr. (Jamie Hodges); and niece, Lashanda Banks. She also leaves behind great-nephews Benjamin Williams, Jr., Aaron Cooley, Tarick Williams, Jr., and Wesley Williams, Jr., great-nieces Logan Williams and Nina Grace Williams.  She is also survived by a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
