Beloved Nana, Ma & NanaNana

Mattie Lee Wheeler(Banks) was born on May 1st, 1932 in Arkansas to Henry and Lucille Banks where she lived until she migrated to Boston,MA some time in 1955. Once here in Boston she went on to become a published author, an award winning Gardner and a staple to her community in Bromley Heath (Mildred Hailey) Housing Development. Mattie loved spending time with her family and friends whether it was around a big table with tons of food, in the kitchen with a well seasoned cast iron skillet or in the yard with a smoking grill. She could always be heard laughing loudly, telling a joke or hollering at one of her grandkids to "be careful for you hurt ya self now!"
