Marvin V. Hill was born June 23, 1988, to Marvin B. Hill & Richelle Denise Smith.  He departed this life Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Beth Israel Hospital.

Marvin was educated in Brockton Public Schools.  He completed college prep and vocational courses in Rockland Mass at North River Collaborative.  Marvin had interest in auto mechanics and was really gifted with his hands. Marvin was an artisanal worker who held a variety of jobs throughout his adult life including working as a distribution specialist in warehouse work, architect work in landscaping and residential construction.  Marvin enjoyed being on the move and would often take joy rides through the community using his mother's car without permission.  He was a caring, loving man that would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.  He enjoyed caring for others and would often bring people to his mom's house for her to feed and shelter.   He once made a clothing donation to the Boston Public Health Commission Homeless Service Bureau.

Marvin loved children and believed in the village approach to raising them.  "Hi baby" is how he would greet the kids in his life.  He also had another gift with his hands, the brother could fight, so if you needed someone to defend you, he was the one you want on your team.  He had a lot of fight practice with his siblings, leaving behind many stories and vivid memories of sibling rivalry.  He was naturally strong and was seen as a highly loved and respected OG in his community of influence.  Marvin's nickname was "Scoopy", and he only allowed the close family to call him that.

Marvin could always be seen wearing a clean white or black t-shirt and a baseball cap.  He took pride in his appearance and would often wear an outfit one time, before donating it to others in his circle.  Marvin enjoyed the holidays for all the food he could consume. He recently consumed nearly all of his mother's Thanksgiving dinner including her sweet potato pies.  Marvin loved sweet potato pie.  Marvin was very close to his baby brother Travis and would often confide in him, borrow his clothes and take over his apartment when he needed a place of respite.

We will certainly miss Marvin for his big heart and sense of humor.  He always managed to evoke laughter and joy.  Marvin's favorite song was one he shared with his special friend Taylar, Sure Thing by Miguel.  He also loved the color red, and when he would wear it, he looked even more fly, and he knew it.  Marvin will truly be missed.

Marvin is preceded in death by his grandfather Richard L. Smith and his nephew Isaiah J. Hill.

He leaves to mourn his mother Richelle D. Smith (Brockton); his father Marvin B. Hill (Minnesota); his daughter Ayanna Foster (Taunton); his sisters Tamika Hill (Brockton), Richelle K. Smith (Roxbury), his brothers Travis Hill (Brockton), Ishmeal Hill (Minnesota); his nephew Aaron Cooley (Roxbury); his niece Logan Williams (Roxbury); his grandmothers Claudette Smith (Roxbury), Thelma Godding (Dorchester); his longtime girlfriend Taylar Gomes (Brockton) and her daughter Talayzia Gomes; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends/associates far and near.
